NATURA: SUSTAINABILITY DERIVATION : NATURE'S CREATION CODE AND PROGRAM - HARMONIC DESIGN AND INTEGRITY OF THE UNIVERSE.

SUSTAINABILITY is the synergetic and cybernetic constitution of the universe. Sustainability, therefore, serves as nature's creation code and program toward optimal self-assembly and self-regulation of energy and matter in any system.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT is a natural derivative of sustainability.

Sustainable Development is the temporal and spatial integrity of nature and human civilization: culture, society, economy and polity, underpinned by nature’s self-sustaining and self-regulating energy networks which engender nature’s dynamic equilibria and stability. It inherently promulgates the actualization of a comprehensive suite of eco-infrastructure, eco-enterprise and eco-preservation.

The state of human civilization is, clearly, a function of the state of nature and attendant natural resources. Renewable resources and renewable technologies , including solar and wind power, no doubt, largely constitute a globally strategic answer to the planet's environmental dilemma, much less planetary stability and health.

Sustainability apparently stems naturally from the primordial quantum field  or the aether of the universe, the ultimate resource in the universe. It is nature's sacred integrity. Sustainability may be perceived, therefore, to engender the structure and function of simple as well as complex, dynamic, diverse yet stable systems of self-sustaining energy networks on planet earth, and indeed, the universe. Sustainability, in fact, tends to reveal itself as nature's own intrinsic template or blue-print for the self-creation of any system's stability, integrity or health. Sustainability , therefore, serves as the primal model whose transcript may as well be manifested as Sustainable Development. This is, in fact, nature's own template or blue-print for the creation of any system's stability, integrity or health. A system may be in the form of mathematical, physical, chemical as well as biotic patterning in the universe; human society, polity, culture or economy; nation-states or, ideally, eco-states as well as the living planet. The universe, after all, may be self-creating toward homeostasis, health or integrity; regulating its contrary tendency toward disintegration and chaos.

Sustainability ensures the synergetic patterning of nature as self-assembly and conformation of energy and matter toward the creation of any ordered physical or chemical entity. It further ensures the self-assembly, self-regulation and self-organization of all cosmic spheres and attendant cosmic integrity, including the earth’s community of biological life, the biosphere. Sustainability tends to serve as the primal template for evolution as self-creation of energy and matter into life which is acted upon by evolutionary processes for adaptive refinement. Sustainability may be instantaneous as observed in physical, chemical or biological reactions. Self-sustaining and self-regulating energy networks comprise and equally drive all of the earth’s life-support systems: geosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and atmosphere which, collectively, constitute the Ecosphere. The spheres are, in fact, a cybernetic system of negative and positive feedback loops that ensure the whole system’s homeostasis, health and, therefore, syntropy. One would also note these phenomena as constituting any system’s stability. They also set the premise for the nascent field of planetary medicine and health which observes and recognizes the equivalence of the earth’s anatomy and physiology to organisms’ basic structural and functional tenets found all over the earth’s habitats.

Sustainability of Nature as Model or Blueprint for Sustainable Development:

Sustainability may be observed and discerned as naturally existing in nature: quantum vacuum field, subatomic quantum particles, cells through, especially, intact ecosystems. It may, indeed, be studied and tested experimentally for scientific reproducibility in an open-air laboratory such as a national park, biosphere preserve or wildlife reserve.

The temporal and spatial developmental pattern of sustainable development parallels ecosystem development. Both emerge as simple systems that develop into mature, complex, self-regulating and self-sustaining yet dynamic, stable and healthy systems in equilibria. This is the optimally adaptive state of an ecosystem and its habitat with attendant life-support systems. For sustainable development to attain a mature state, it should, therefore, attain the mature state of sustainability of an ecosystem. This state may be characterized mathematically for ecosystems as having the following relationship:

dS/dt = dSD/dt = 0

Where i. dS/dt is the rate of change of sustainability of an ecosystem

ii. dSD/dt is the rate of change of sustainable development

Sustainable Development is logically, as a result, a function of sustainability of a healthy planet earth and cosmic integrity. Sustainability, therefore, serves as the model or blueprint for sustainable development. For example, renewable energy such as solar power may be seen as a translated technology of the green plant's photosynthetic apparatus, primarily the green leaf's reduction and oxidation electrochemical reactions. The leaf has the capacity to harness and store the sun's energy. The energy is then available to a whole range of flora and fauna, including the leaf itself as well as humanity. Sustainable development, therefore, mirrors nature's own sustainability as it is premised on energy and resources conservation and efficiency; recycling and pollution mitigation and overall systems dynamic stability; a cascade of self-sustaining energy and matter throughput and energy networks: natural resource extraction, processing and manufacture; allocation, consumption and utilization; sinks and cycles. Environmental collapse or degradation are, accordingly, functions of structural and physiological deviations from sustainability.

Sustainability, based on this derivation, may infer - quite aptly:

i. Qualitatively,

The worldwide balance and integrity of nature with humanity for all time.

ii. Quantitatively,

a. C² = f(N)

where C = civilization

N = Nature

Note the solution of C² is a square root.

This may imply that C = positive (syntropy or sustainability)

or C = negative (entropy or collapse of civilization and nature)

b. FURTHER:

Sustainability = Synergetics + Cybernetics

Sustainability [system’s harmonic design & integrity: creation code & program for dynamic stability, homeostasis, health or integrity] =

Synergetics [optimal self-assembly of energy & matter] + Cybernetics

[self-regulation of energy/matter networks]

STRATEGIC APPROACH - The Way Forward: Actualization of Sustainability.

1. Preservation of Ecological Integrity and Health

2. Mitigation of Ecological Degradation

This would entail the recognition and institution of the following approaches:

A. Ecological Restoration: Creation of a worldwide network of ecostates: biosphere parks, national parks, wildlife preserves; protected areas and peace parks: intact ecosystems.

i) In situ Intrinsic Valuation: preservation of microcosm of nature’s evolution and natural history of nearly 15 billion years for its own sake, without human benefit; from the big bang (aether, subatomic chaos, strings & quarks, etc) to climax ecosystems (complex, dynamic, diverse, stable, regenerative systems; self-sustaining and self-regulating ecological equilibria). It serves as the principal model, gold standard or benchmark for the structure and function of nature in the universe. It is the benchmark against which environmental degradation outside the protected area may be accurately calibrated and evaluated for ecological system’s, stability,  health and integrity. It  is  also equivalent to the Giza Pyramid - the repository of human and divine wisdom by the sages of antiquity for posterity. It is nature’s own ultimate library.

ii) In situ Extrinsic Valuation: model of sustainability (sustainable development) of the planet earth (spaceship earth) underpinned by peace and science.

This is extrinsic valuation of nature and humanity - institution of comprehensive eco-infrastructure, eco-enterprise and eco-preservation such as the nascent network of coast-to-coast, trans-continental peace parks in Southern Africa: creation of ecotopia. This also serves as Noah’s Ark.

B) Ex situ Promulgation and Implementation of Planetary (Global) Sustainability among nation states, employing the creation and institution of comprehensive suit of eco-infrastructure, eco-enterprise and ecological restoration: preservation of nature’s integrity; planetary health - Insurance Against Environmental Collapse.

This is the inception of planetary system’s stability or homeostasis: a resource and energy efficient infrastructure; deployment of renewable energy (solar, wind, pyramid energy, the  aether-spacenet and inerton field, Tesla wireless energy, etc); life-friendly systems; water, food, habitat, public health, education; communications - sustainable technologies such as sun-powered satellite networks and related devices; in situ (wild/field) ecosystem reconstitution as well as:

ex situ (lab) gene evaluation and preservation - insurance against environmental collapse of a healthy, living planet.

.

Ecological Recovery ensures mitigation of overall environmental degradation or collapse such as mass species extinction, global warming and climate change, desertification, pollution, deforestation, arable soil erosion, gene erosion, aquifer depletion; human extinction resulting, regrettably, in entropy.

CAVEAT:

It may be worthy to note that this derivation of sustainability has been carefully derived based on apparently lucid yet rigorous principles out of disparate disciplines of scholarship. The disciplines encompass physics’ relativity and quantum mechanics; synergetics and cybernetics; chemistry, developmental biology, ecology and, of course, mathematics [Fantappiè, Einstein, Fuller & Thoth[Tehuti] - DataAdve and links].
